Rooted in New Mexico. Built in Colorado.
Francisco is a New Mexico Native who grew up surrounded by the trade. His father owned an electrical business back home, and from an early age Francisco was right there alongside him — learning not just the work, but the pride and craftsmanship that goes into doing it right. That foundation never left him. When he moved to Colorado in 2005, he carried it with him, and eventually it became the seed of something of his own: Zia Electric.
Today, Zia Electric is a full-service electrical contractor serving the Colorado Front Range and beyond. Handling everything from residential service calls and remodels to commercial installations and new construction. But for Francisco, this has always been about more than wiring and panels. It’s about building something that lasts, and inspiring the next generation of electricians to take the same pride in their craft that he learned from his father.
Why the Zia?
The Zia symbol is the ancient sun emblem of the Zia Pueblo people of New Mexico, and the centerpiece of the state’s flag. It carries a meaning that runs deep. To the Zia people, the sacred number four is embodied in everything: the four cardinal directions, the four seasons, the four parts of each day, and the four stages of life. Everything is bound together in a circle of life, without beginning and without end. Most meaningfully, the Zia believe that every person carries four sacred obligations: to develop a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit, and a devotion to the welfare of others.
For Francisco, those four obligations aren’t just a philosophy, they’re how he runs his business. Show up strong. Think clearly. Do honest work. And take care of the of the people around you.
Zia Electric is named as a tribute to home, to heritage, and to a standard of work that Francisco has carried with him every mile from New Mexico to Colorado.
